Mikael Alacoque’s ‘Bad Babysitter’ is part of a series of sculptures that are concerned with a playfully sinister bastardization of familiar objects. The pieces have an initial feeling of innocence and irreverence but on closer inspection seem more bizarre and unsettling.
A Practice for Everyday Life is a design studio based in London, founded by Kirsty Carter and Emma Thomas in 2003. The focus of their work is with cultural institutions and individuals. Their thoughtful and rational approach to graphic design, has established the studio a reputation for deceptively simple and successful projects.
After a year at Studio Dumbar, I decided to explore branding and worked at Brown KSDP, Amsterdam. Shortly after that, I joined internationally acclaimed design studio Koeweiden Postma. After working there for several years, I became co-creative director with Jacques Koeweiden. Currently, I am working as Design Director at Nike Europe in The Netherlands.
